Andres Iniesta is only a little man who never be predicted as the decider of Spain’s win. The big players like Xavi and Fernando Torres were failed to be the man of the match. During the game, Xavi failed to join the well-positioned and when the ball ran to Villa. His kick went wide off and couldn’t make any goal.

Uruguay Moves on Semi Final, While Ghana Cried

Originally posted July 3rd, 2010 by Poozt Staff

Finally, Ghana goes home earlier! Uruguay won the match with penalty score (4-2). The score was still 1-1 after extra time. Both team fought through penalty and Uruguay success to make Ghana cried. As you know, this was the first time for Ghana into quarter final after 80-year history Ghana joined the match without any bright chance like this period.

But, unfortunately, Ghana must say good bye to FIFA World Cup 2010 and wait 4 years later to show the power in the next greatest match.

In the meantime, Uruguay will meet Holland after made Ghana knocked on knee as the loser! Ghana looked like nervous at the first time the match was begun. This team played with a big burden to carry out the victory for South Africa. Actually, there are many chances to Ghana when Gyan tried to receive the Muntari’s corner, but the luck did not come. Ghana failed to add the score.

The disaster came when Forlan gave a perfect free kick toward Kingson because of John Panstil’s silly mistake. The ball was past sharply toward Ghana’s goalpost. Even Kingson, the goalkeeper was not able to catch it.  This moment directly hit Ghana’s mental play. The position was still same, extra time was given, but there was no change. Until penalty was given to determine which team will win. Tragically, Ghana lost the chance to move on semi final.

Paraguay v Spain: A Chance Of Making New History For Both

Originally posted July 3rd, 2010 by Poozt Staff

Ellis Park stadium, Johannesburg will whiteness the winner who make new football history for countries. It’s the time for Paraguay and Spain to book a place at semi finals. The kick off will be great since both team would struggle hard to move on.

Both teams have different approaches to beat their rivals. It’s all about defense v attack. The La Roja have great compactly players who don’t have any injury or suspension issue from last games. Coach Vicente del Bosque will keep the same strategies and formation in the field. Spain players are famous for speed and attack when they dribble the ball around.

In opposite, Coach Gerardo Martino is in worries for his players’ stamina since Uruguay must spend 120 tiredness minutes to beat Japan in qualifying. He asked his players to reinforce the defense to encounter Spain’s attack. In fact, Spain creates more goals opportunities through David Villa, as top-scorer on four goals during World Cup.

Both teams will give lots of problem for each other. Paraguay players have grit and strength as their key to win, against sharp strategies and skill from Spain’s squad. Both will try to continue making new history where the first team to score will take benefit.

Holland Dump out Brazil with 2-1

Originally posted July 3rd, 2010 by Poozt Staff

Yeah! Holland showed the superiority by dumping put Samba team with 2-1 yesterday. Even though the great expectation goes to Samba team, Holland is able to push Brazil out of FIFA World Cup 2010. Bert van Marwijk does not change the structure of players. It is still the same like previous match against Denmark and other rivals in group.

At the first session, Holland seemed losing control and Samba dominated the play. Brazil opened the game with Ronaldinho’s goal in 10th minutes. He celebrated the opener by screaming loudly. Brazil continued the strikes again and again, but Holland did not give an opportunity to Samba team. Sneiijder made the same score when he gave a long sharp kick toward Samba’s goalpost!

The great match was begun! The same position gave new spirit for both teams. Samba and de’Oranje team fought full of fire. But, the luck came to Holland when Robben’s corner kick was held off Melo and into his own goalpost. His fault gave Holland add the score. Because of this moment, Samba became mad and uncontrollable. Melo was rewarded a red card by the referee because of his strikes on Robben and this condition made Samba played with only 10 players. Holland kept the defense to save the position till the end of the game. De’Oranje team allows Holland step up Semi final against Uruguay. Go Holland!

Argentina v Germany: Exact Revenge For Triumph

Originally posted July 3rd, 2010 by Poozt Staff

This match is a though one since both has their own reason to move on semi finals. In fact, this match is going to be rematch of 2006 quarter finals where Germany succeeds to beat Argentina four years ago. Surely Argentina wants to win this match as their past revenge for defeat.

When we look at the stats of tournament, Argentina seems secure a spot to semifinals, but it will be hard since they are really weak on back defense and horrible goalkeepers which always have trouble to catch more ball. If they change the strategies and strengthen their defense, they may be lucky to score more than Germany.

Both teams have few key players which going to be a threat for each other. There are truly giant footballs teams who have succeed with Word Cup competition for long time. Germany has solid and consistent team with great record on paper. Otherwise, Argentina is very talented with veteran players who consistently produce goals.

Argentina and Germany will do their best for kickoff. It will be held at Cape Town on Saturday. It’s hard to tell who is going to move on, since both teams are great on playing and record. Although all bets favor to Germany, we hope Argentina can show some miracle this evening.

Spain v Portugal: Spain Beat European Rivals Portugal 1-0

Originally posted June 30th, 2010 by Poozt Staff

Spain succeeds to defeat Portugal with 1-0. It was nice shot from David Villa who scored the goal before knocking Portugal’s house out, eventually. With this victory, Spain will play against Paraguay in the quarter final.

It was tight match from opening start where Portuguese keep running in the field to seal Spain defense. Unfortunately, they missed chances repeatedly in the first half. The threat came from David Villa in the 63rd minute with his goal that broke the deadlock of games.

Spain is worth for victory since they played hard to survive against Portugal offense. Portuguese often tested Spain with dozens of shots from long range but quickly faded. They look dominate the game in first half.

Spain has been boosted with Andreas Iniesta and Fernando Torres who have just return off the bench from injuries. Spain progress their performance impressively in World Cup since they bounced back Honduras and Chile. Even Cristiano Ronaldo, Spain‘s biggest threat cannot hold Portugal effort to concede more goals.

Spain played as a solid team and has skillful players that famous with their counter attacks and pace. They already played in serious matches during qualifying and have enough quality to beat Portuguese.

Paraguay v Japan: Japan Was Devastated After Missing Their Penalty Kick

Originally posted June 30th, 2010 by Poozt Staff

Paraguay sealed Japan fate through their penalty win in Pretoria. This is a new history for them to reach quarter final for the first time after a goalless draw match. It was great offense from both team but Japan inability to score any goal in exhausting regular time force them in composure of penalty kicks.

It’s very regrettable for Yuichi Komano hit the crossbar while South Africans almost never have any success with penalty shoots. But yesterday, the penalty kicks is seems belong to Paraguay after Oscar Cardozo wind up Japan goalkeeper, Eiji Kawashima with his low left-footed goal. Eiji wasn’t good enough at penalties even Japan attacked well

While Japan need to shoot more accuracy, Oscar Cardozo made difference after secured the 5-3 penalty kicks win. Paraguay started the game with tough defense although they pass the match with no scoring.

Although Japan improves their technique on playing, they leave the competition with one penalty kick errors. It’s seems players have terrible weight to carry when faced penalty kicks. It wasn’t their greatest game since there is no willingness to win.

The execution from Portugal was perfect to sent Japan home when Cardozo easily beat Kawashima in the fifth penalty and he did it.

USA v Ghana: It’s Gonna Be Exciting Kickoff

Originally posted June 26th, 2010 by Poozt Staff

Fireworks match will be held at Royal Bafokeng Stadium, Rustenberg, South Africa on Saturday between USA and Ghana. It looks like both are on fire to beat each other. USA is looking for revenge in Ghana rematch since The Black Star sent them home in the final match of World Cup 2006 and move on to Last 16.

The past loss will be a significant factor for USA to knock out Ghana in this match. They will enjoy the chance to settle dozens of shots to gain more score. However, this is hard since Ghana has lots of strong, skilled players like Asamoah Gyan. He is the only man who contributes score for team this far.  Another Ghana player to watch is Kevin Prince Boateng that famous with his dangerous shots.

Also, Ghana is skilled on penalty kicks. They just need to play as a team and increase the speed. This is the only African team that made it to the next round.

In opposite, USA relies on Landon Donovan, the hero of USA team. Furthermore, they have lots progress on performance with new squads than the 2006 team while Ghana shows no offensive capability. It wasn’t easy for both team to get to round of 16.
